A full-depth repair replacing rebar and concrete where a pothole formed on the highway took place for several hours yesterday afternoon. This repair requires replacement of rebar and concrete where the road is damaged, said Danny Perez, TxDOT public information officer. The goal is to have the road back open in time for the afternoon rush hour to begin. Posted at 9:54 a.m. A pothole on I-45 northbound where the Hardy Toll Road connects to the freeway has traffic backed up for miles from south Montgomery County to the Beltway 8. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, crews are assessing the the damage, and a full-depth repair will take place for several hours today.   It is best for travelers to avoid I-45 today. Alternate routes include the Hardy Toll Road, Hwy. 249 and the Grand Parkway. However, account for more cars on those roadways due to displacement from I-45.
