The Woodlands has a variety of events happening this weekend. Here are 5 things residents can take part in from Sept. 30-Oct. 2.:

1. Kids Night Out

Sept. 30

Kids Night Out features a “Mad Scientist Halloween Hoopla” theme and will offer games, arts and crafts and other activities for children. Children are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and dinner is also included. 6-10 p.m. $30 (per resident). 2. CASA Superhero Run

Oct. 1

The seventh annual CASA Superhero Run features 5K and 10K trail runs as well as a kid’s fun run. It is the only run in Montgomery County with courses through W.G. Jones State Forest. Before and after the race participants enjoy the Race Village, which features sponsor tents as well as engaging activities for children. The event is for competitive runners or casual walkers who would like to show support for abused and neglected children in Montgomery County. 8 a.m (start time). $30 (per person for 5K), $40 (per person for 10K). 3. Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Oct. 1

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. 8-11 a.m. Free. 4. Community Safety Expo

Oct. 1

The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch hosts an event filled with food, fun and public safety demonstrations for the community. Residents can get up close with public safety personnel and equipment, enter the mobile command units of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security and watch law enforcement K-9 demonstrations at this event. Children can enjoy face painting, a bounce house, crafts and hanging out with McGruff the Crime Dog. noon-3 p.m. Free. 5. Concert in the Park

Oct. 2
