Major roadways in Sugar Land will experience some lane closures this weekend. See what roads are affected and when the closures are occurring, according to the city of Sugar Land and the Texas Department of Transportation:

Hwy. 90

  • Saturday: One inside lane in either direction will be closed from Dairy Ashford Road to Hwy. 59. The eastbound lane will close from 8 a.m. until noon and the westbound lane will close from 9 a.m. until noon.

  • All weekend: Alternate lanes will be closed in either direction between Cunningham Creek Boulevard and Gateway Boulevard from 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

  • Saturday: East- and westbound lane closures may occur at the intersection with Parklane Boulevard from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Saturday: Eastbound lane closures may occur near the intersection with Ellis Creek Boulevard from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.



Hwy. 6

  • All weekend: One lane in either direction will be closed between Lexington Boulevard and Highland Hills from 9.am.-4 p.m.

    Saturday: Southbound lane closures may occur south of Voss Road near Cullinan Park from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Saturday: Lanes in either direction may be closed between University Boulevard and Brooks Street from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.


Now open: Crosswalk on Town Center Boulevard North

As part of Sugar Land's Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan, a crosswalk has been installed on Town Center Boulevard North in Sugar Land, located between Sugar Land City Hall and the shops at Town Center.

Pedestrians can press a button to signal warning lights at either side of the crosswalk as well as in the median. Speed tables were also installed to slow cars leading up to the crosswalk in either direction of Town Center Boulevard North.
