1. I-45 HOV lanes

The I-45 high occupancy vehicle lane extension project adds one lane in each direction along I-45 from FM 1960 in northern Harris County to South Loop 336 in Conroe. Construction is estimated to be completed by the end of September.

2.  Riley Fuzzel Road widening

The project will widen Riley Fuzzel Road from West Hardy Road to west of Hardy Toll Road from two lanes to five lanes. It is in the design phase, and Harris County expects to put it out for bid in the first quarter of 2017.

3.  Spring Stuebner Road study


A traffic study of Spring Stuebner Road at Northgate Crossing Boulevard included the recommendation of the installation of an eastbound left-turn lane. Planned improvements include the widening of Spring Stuebner Road to accommodate the installation of the turn lane. Harris County expects to begin development within 60 days.

 4. TC Jester Boulevard signal improvements


Harris County funded the corridor design efforts for 10 traffic signal systems on TC Jester Boulevard between FM 1960 and FM 2920. Two intersection installations await activation: Spring Creek Oaks Drive and Pinelakes Boulevard.

5. Gosling Road widening

Segment 1 of the widening project on Gosling Road includes widening the roadway to a five-lane concrete pavement section between Spring Stuebner Road, and the Grand Parkway. It also includes a 4-lane pavement section with a 14-foot wide median between the Grand Parkway and Mossy Oaks Road. The project was awarded to Allgood Construction Co. in August, and construction is estimated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2016.


Timeline: Fall 2016-second quarter 2017
Cost: $8.2 million

6.  Segments 2 and 3


Segment 2 of the project includes a widening from two to four lanes between Mossy Oaks Road and West Rayford Road. Segment 2 is in the design phase, and Harris County expects the designs to be completed by the end of 2016. Segment 3 of the project includes a widening of Gosling Road from two to four lanes between West Rayford Road and north of Creekside Forest, which is in The Woodlands. Segment 3 is in the design phase, and Harris County estimates the designs to be completed by the end of 2016.
