The Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management issued a mandatory evacuation notice Monday night for the Northwood Pines subdivision, located south of Spring Creek and north of I-45 and Hardy Toll Road. Residents of the subdivision are instructed to leave using I-45 South and to proceed to shelter at Spring High School, located at 19428 I-45 North.
According to the notice posted on the county website, the alert is only intended for the Northwood Pines subdivision—which is part of Northgate Crossing Municipal Utility District No. 1—and not for the Northgate subdivision located south of Hardy Toll Road.
Flooding conditions may worsen after 11 p.m., preventing residents from leaving the subdivision, according to the alert.

Rain continues this week as Tropical Storm Harvey hovers over the region, leading to flooding along Cypress Creek, school closures and recommended evacuations in several neighborhoods.
On Sunday night, evacuations of communities along Spring Creek and Cypress Creek were recommended by Harris County emergency officials.
According to the National Weather Service, over 21 inches of rain fell along Cypress Creek within the 48-hour period from Friday morning to about noon on Monday. NWS statistics indicate major flooding has occurred along the creek from Hwy. 249 to I-45.
Bridges at Kuykendahl and Gosling roads have been deemed impassable, north of Spring and Klein.
On Monday, H-E-B announced several of its area stores were closed, including the Champion Forest market. The following stores are open until 3 p.m. Monday:
- Louetta Stuebner, 7310 Louetta Road, Spring
- Spring Cypress, 14100 Spring Cypress Road, Spring
- Vintage Market, 10919 Louetta Road, Spring
Klein ISD posted a notice on its Facebook page Monday that the Klein Multipurpose Center, located at 7200 FM 2920, is receiving families as an unofficial shelter. The district announced it needs towels, sanitary wipes, feminine sanitary products, baby wipes, baby sleepwear and hand sanitizer at this location. Additional drop-off sites for supplies are Northside Christian Church, 20250 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, and Faithbridge Church, 18000 Stuebner Airline Road, Spring.
Spring and Klein ISDs, as well as Lone Star College System campuses, are closed through Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Harris County Precinct 4 constable's office indicated on Monday morning the rain has decreased in intensity since yesterday, but more rainfall is expected in the area.
