With many children out of school this week for spring break some families may be looking for entertaining things to do.  Here are some things to do in Fort Bend County and Houston.

The George Ranch Historical Park

Explore 100 years of ranching and farming through March 18. From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. families can experience a day in the life of a Texas settler. Experience frontier life by making jerky at the 1830s Jones Stock Farm, branding wood with hot metal at the 1860s Ryan Prairie Home, and discovering how to make plants grow on an 1890s-sharecropper farm. These activities and more can help educate and entertain over the next week. 281-343-0218. www.georgeranch.org/programs-events/spring-break
