County officials confirmed the dump site off Harlem Road near Plantation Drive in Richmond [shown here]
is just one of three temporary sites where debris from Harvey is taken before being transported to one of two landfills. The other temporary dump sites include a second location off Sienna Parkway in Sienna Plantation and a third site on FM 1489 south of Simonton.

After debris is collected at the three temporary sites, it is then taken to one of two regulated landfills. The two landfills include the Fort Bend Regional Landfill near Needville and the Blue Ridge Landfill off FM 521.

As of Oct. 8,  355,745 cubic yards of debris have been removed from the county. Officials estimated a total of 500,000 cubic yards of debris was left in the county after Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast in late August.
