African-American Cowboys

In honor of Black History Month, visitors learn about the rich legacy of African-American cowboys at George Ranch Historical Park and explore their lasting contributions. African-Americans made up the primary percentage of the Jones-Ryon-Davis-George cowboy force and were responsible for the annual cattle roundups and cattle management, including branding, tagging, herding and doctoring.

Playing the Past workshop

‘Texas, Our Texas’

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra continues its 25th season with a performance both written and performed by living composers and artists from Texas.
