The Pearland and Friendswood area is home to a variety of summer camps for children of all ages and interests. Parents can choose a summer camp from a wide range of academic, day, overnight and sports camps. This list is not comprehensive.

Bricks 4 Kidz
The annual summer camp allows children to play and create models with Legos as well as the camp’s own specially designed bricks. Camps are divided into two age groups and explore topics in engineering, architecture and robotics. Camps are hosted at four locations in the Pearland area: Pearland Parks and Recreation Department, St. Andrew’s Academy, Shepherd of the Heart United Methodist Church and Lake Jackson Parks and Recreation Department. Code Ninjas
Four different camp options are available—Minecraft Create, Beginning JavaScript, Game Builders Club and Code Drones—in which campers learn different functionalities of computer programing and gaming. University of Houston Summer Camp
UH-Downtown spearheads a partnership with UH and UH-Clear Lake and several camp providers to offer camps in computer building and programming, engineering, writing, foreign languages and a Summer Academy that includes test prep (ACT/SAT), financial literacy, and visits to MD Anderson Hospital to explore the health care field. Each camp runs for one week, but parents can sign their student up for multiple weeks. Early bird registration ends March 31. Ages 6-16. $249-695 per week. June 4-July 13.

Camps feature indoor and outdoor activities, including arts and crafts, nature studies, scavenger hunts, swimming and multiple sports. Some sessions offer field trips, including Galveston’s Pleasure Pier, Typhoon Texas and Schlitterbahn. Camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended child care hours: 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Mon.-Fri. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning April 10 for Friendswood residents and April 24 for nonresidents. Ages 6-13. $140-$225 per session (rates are higher for nonresidents). City of Pearland
Camp KIA (Kids in Action) offers Arts & Crafts, dodgeball, swimming, dancing, skits, obstacle courses, scavenger hunts and other activities. Campers are split into groups based on age. Allegro Pearland Academy of Music
Allegro offers two camps, one for each age group. The first, June 11-15, is a singing and piano camp for students ages 5 to 12 called “Music of Mermaids.” The second is the Summer Strings Camp for violin, viola and cello students age 7 and older. Popstar Performers
Campers learn to sing, dance and perform popular songs and routines. The camps include themes, such as “The Greatest Showman,” “Trolls,” “Descendants 2,” “Moana” and “Taylor Swift/Kids Bop.” Each camp culminates in a final performance. Bay Area Equestrian
Two-day camps include hours of horseback riding, games, crafts and making horse treats. 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Second-day activities include parent showoff during the final hour of camp.
