Update, Nov. 3: At the close of early voting on Friday, a total of 90,737 ballots were cast in Brazoria County, which was slightly lower than the 2016 presidential election year's early voting total. However, the number is historically high for a midterm and is more than double the 2014 midterm turnout of 38,379.

With over 207,000 registered voters in the county, this means that almost 40 percent have already participated in this year's election.

Voting centers will reopen from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 for Election Day.

Update, Oct. 31: With three days remaining in early voting, polls in Brazoria County have seen a total 72,151 participants, representing about 38 percent of registered voters. All early polling locations close at 7 p.m. Friday.

Update, Oct. 29:Turnout slowed over Saturday and Sunday, with the total vote count now at 60,060 compared to 61,341 for the same period in 2016. There are five days remaining in the early voting period.

Update, Oct. 27: Polls have officially eclipsed the entire early voting turnout in 2014, with 50,819 voters participating so far, or almost 1 in 4 registered voters.

The county is averaging about 9,000 in-person voters per day, with significant participation at all three Pearland locations and in Lake Jackson. If this trend continues for the next 7 days of early voting, turnout could easily surpass that of the 2016 presidential election year, when over 100,000 people voted early.

Update, Oct. 24: Turnout remained strong on the second day of early voting, with an additional 9,828 ballots cast on Tuesday in Brazoria County. The busiest polling location has been the Tom Reid Library in Pearland, processing over 1,500 votes on Days 1 and 2. A total of 25,185 have cast early votes this year, compared to 24,605 for the same period in 2016.

Update, Oct. 23: By the end of the first day of Brazoria County early voting, 15,369 residents had cast ballots in the 2018 midterm elections on Monday, mirroring significant turnout figures being seen across the state. That number includes 4,085 mail-in ballots received prior to Oct. 22.

By comparison mail-in and first-day turnout in 2014, a midterm election year, was 5,332. In 2016, a presidential election year, 14,166 cast early ballots as of the same period.
