1. Rayford Road widening
This project will widen Rayford Road from four to six lanes between Lazy Lane and the Grand Parkway. A six-lane bridge will be constructed over the railroad tracks, and new traffic signals and a raised median will be added. Construction is underway on the bridge over the railroad. Pavement, curbs and gutters will be added between West Hawthorne and Wild Rose drives. The project team is working on utility relocations, installing storm sewers and expanding the existing bridge between Wild Rose and Aldine Westfield Road.

2. David Memorial Drive extension
This project will extend David Memorial Drive from Shenandoah Park Drive to Hwy. 242. Phase 1 was completed in May, and Phase 2, which will extend David Memorial Drive to the Shenandoah city limit, is in the design stage. Engineers are working to find the most effective storm drainage solution for the project, and once a solution is identified, the design will be finalized, city officials said.

3. Gosling Road bridge
A dual bridge will be constructed on Gosling Road over Spring Creek as part of a joint project between Montgomery County Precinct 3 and Harris County Precinct 4 to mitigate traffic in Creekside Park. If the project qualifies for state funding this fall, the Texas Department of Transportation will fund 80 percent of the $9.27 million project, and the bridge would be built to different standards. County officials said project development could begin as early as 2018.

4. Research Forest Drive widening
This project will widen Research Forest Drive from two to four lanes with asphalt shoulders from FM 2978 to Branch Crossing Drive. The clearing work for the project has been completed, and road construction is underway and on schedule, county officials said.

Timeline: April 17, 2017-April 2018

5. FM 2978 widening
TxDOT will widen FM 2978 from two to four lanes from FM 1488 to south of Dry Creek for Phase 1 and from south of Dry Creek to Conroe-Hufsmith Road for Phase 2. Construction on Phase 2 is scheduled to begin in late 2017, while construction on Phase 1 is slated for the first quarter of 2018. The project has been delayed due to utility relocations for several months. Each phase is expected to take approximately 30 months to complete.

Timeline: first quarter 2018-mid 2020 (Phase 1), fourth quarter 2017-second quarter 2020 (Phase 2)
