The following lane closures have been scheduled, according to officials with the Texas Department of Transportation:
- Hwy. 290 westbound mainlanes from W. Little York Road to FM 529 will be closed from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Drivers can detour to the frontage road at the Gessner Road exit and reenter the mainlanes past FM 529. As work progresses, the contractor will open the westbound collector-distributor lanes and the detour will change. At that point, drivers will use the collector-distributor, detour to the frontage road at the FM 529 exit and reenter the mainlanes at the next entrance.
- The Hwy. 290 westbound direct connector to northbound and southbound Beltway 8 will be closed from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Drivers can detour to the frontage road at the Gessner Road exit and turn left or right onto the Beltway 8 frontage road to access the tollway.
- Both the Beltway 8 northbound and southbound connectors to Hwy. 290 eastbound and westbound will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Beltway drivers traveling southbound can exit at West Road and continue on the Beltway 8 frontage road to Hwy. 290. Drivers traveling northbound can exit at Tanner Road and continue on the Beltway 8 frontage road to Hwy. 290.
- FM 529 southbound lanes under Hwy. 290 will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 23. Both FM 529 northbound and southbound lanes under Hwy. 290 will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. July 23 to 5 a.m. July 24. Drivers should detour to Hwy. 290 frontage road and U-turn back to FM 529.
- One of the new Hwy. 290 eastbound collector-distributor lanes—the inside lane—will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 23.
The contractor will switch traffic to new Hwy. 290 eastbound pavement between Telge and Mueschke roads as work continues on mainlane widening.
- Two alternating Hwy. 290 eastbound mainlanes will be closed from Mueschke to Barker Cypress roads from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Only one lane will be open. The entrance ramp from Mueschke Road will also be closed during this time.
- One inside Hwy. 290 westbound lane will be closed at Telge Road overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on both July 22 and July 23.
The contractor is performing bridge work from Mason to Bauer roads.
- Hwy. 290 westbound mainlanes at Bauer Road will be closed from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Drivers can detour to the frontage road at the Bauer Road exit and reenter the mainlanes past Bauer Road.
- Bauer Road northbound and southbound lanes under Hwy. 290 will be closed from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Drivers can detour to the Hwy. 290 frontage road and U-turn back to Bauer Road.
- Both northbound and southbound Grand Parkway connectors to Hwy. 290 westbound will be closed from 9 p.m. July 22 to 5 a.m. July 25. Northbound drivers will be detoured to the Hwy. 290 eastbound lanes where they can U-turn. Southbound drivers will be detoured to the Grand Parkway frontage road at the Cumberland Ridge exit where they can access the Hwy. 290 westbound frontage road.
Scheduled closures are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events, TxDOT officials said. A listing of all scheduled Hwy. 290 lane closures can be viewed online at www.my290.com.
