The Woodlands Township Position 3 incumbent Jeff Long is the projected winner with 93 percent of precincts reporting in Montgomery County and 88 percent of precincts reporting in Harris County.



Long has received 7,955 votes, or 55 percent of the vote. Long's opponents are Ryan Elkins, who earned 3,720 votes, or 25 percent, and David Cassidy, who has received 2,842 votes, or 17 percent.



Long will serve his second term on the township board of directors after first being elected in 2012. Township directors serve two-year terms on the board. Long is a retired engineer and public works director who now works in consulting. Long is also a former president of The Woodlands Community Association.



Cassidy is a physical therapist for St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital and was previously a restaurant manager.



Elkins is a customer service representative for a transportation software company.
