Project update



1. The Grand Parkway Segments F1, F2 and GThree segments—F1, F2 and G—of the Grand Parkway are under simultaneous construction and will total 37 miles of Houston's third outer loop. The segments stretch from Hwy. 290 to Hwy. 59 and feature major overpasses and interchanges at Hwy. 290, Hwy. 249 in Tomball and I-45. 2. Holzwarth Road extension



The extension of Holzwarth Road from FM 2920 to Spring Stuebner Road continues. Construction continues on the northern section—including a four-lane roadway and storm sewer system—from north of Emerson Ridge Drive to Spring Stuebner Road.



Timeline: North section scheduled for completion Nov. 20, south section completed



Cost: $1.93 million total for northern section

3. Spring Stuebner widening



The widening of Spring Stuebner Road from Kuykendahl Road to I-45 from two lanes to four lanes continues. Segments A and B were completed earlier this year. Segment C, which connects Falvel Road to I-45, includes 14-foot medians, drainage and traffic signals.



Timeline: Segment C scheduled for completion Dec. 31



Cost:$8.91 million for Segment C

4. Tomball Tollway



Construction on the Tomball Tollway is underway. Phase I of the Harris County Toll Road Authority project is being constructed as a six-lane—three in each direction—electronically monitored tollway in the median between existing Hwy. 249 main lanes. It will run from just south of Spring Cypress Road to just north of FM 2920.



Timeline: Project is expected to be completed in spring 2015

5. TC Jester signal installationHarris County Precinct 4 continues the installation of 10 traffic lights along TC Jester Boulevard between FM 1960 and FM 2920 in Spring. The intersections include Chapel Bend Drive, Aspen Bend Drive, Kennonview Drive, Glenmere Lane, Winding Bridge Drive, Center Court Drive, Pinelakes Boulevard, Alvin A. Klein Drive, Springbrook Hollow Drive and Spring Creek Oaks Drive.



Timeline: Project is scheduled for completion May 22, 2015

6. Gosling Road widening



Harris County has plans to widen Gosling Road from Spring Stuebner Road north to West Mossy Oaks Road. The roadway will be widened to a five-lane concrete pavement with a drainage system and a railroad crossing. The project is in the design phase, although the design could be finalized in the final quarter of 2014.



Timeline: Bid authorization anticipated in first quarter of 2015



Cost: $7.6 million

7. Hufsmith-Kohrville widening Segment 1



A capital improvement project by Harris County Precinct 4 to widen Segment 1 of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard section will soon be underway. The county has awarded the bid for the project to Menade Inc. and construction is anticipated to start in September 2014. Segment 1 will widen the road from 400 feet south of Spring Cypress Road north to Hollow Glen Lane and will include a storm sewer system, traffic signalization or signal modifications as needed.



Timeline: Construction is expected to begin in 2015

8. Hardy Toll Road widening



The Harris County Toll Road Authority has plans to widen the Hardy Toll Road from FM 1960 to the Grand Parkway—adding a third lane in each direction. The project includes a partial interchange at the Grand Parkway. Final design of the project has begun and construction is set to begin early next year.
