Stephen "Skeeter" Hubert has filed to run for Conroe ISD Board of Trustees Position 3, joining Kim LeJeune and Jason Millsaps in the race to fill the seat in the Nov. 4 election.

The three candidates are vying to replace former board member C.J. Haynes, who resigned from the position earlier this year.

"Dr. Don Stockton and the previous CISD board members have done an excellent job in positioning our school district for the future," Hubert said in a statement. "Rapid growth will bring needed changes and new challenges. As a school board trustee I will be informed, involved and invested in ensuring continued success."

Hubert serves as the President of the Board of Directors for Montgomery County Emergency Assistance; has served on the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for two separate terms, served as The Woodlands Community Association Board of Directors in 2008, and volunteers for the Education for Tomorrow Alliance.

Board positions 1 and 2 are also up for election this year. Melanie Bush announced her candidacy for position 1 in March—and has since filed for the position. Position 2 incumbent Ray Sanders has also filed for re-election, according to the school district.

Additional candidates can file for a school board position until the 5 p.m. deadline on Aug. 18.

Early voting runs from Oct. 20 through Oct. 31, and the election will be held on Nov. 4. New trustees will be sworn in on Nov. 18. Each position carries a four-year term.
