The Farmers Market at Imperial was established in 2010 as a temporary, seasonal market to feature produce from local farmers. More than two years later, however, the market has become a weekly occurrence, seeing hundreds of visitors and hosting dozens of vendors every Saturday.

"In Sugar Land, people are interested in a lot of things," said Kim Broom, vendor coordinator with the Farmers Market at Imperial. "We want to offer a little bit of everything."

Presented by the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, along with a handful of community sponsors, the farmers market transforms the parking lot at the former Imperial Sugar refinery into a haven for those who like to shop local. Whether in need of some Kobe beef, gourmet pet treats, skin care products, distinctive jewelry or just an afternoon of live music and fresh food, shoppers are sure to find no shortage of local goods. The year-round market is open every Saturday rain or shine and is currently gearing up for the hotter spring and summer months, when visitors can look for large tomatoes, fresh corn and ripe watermelon.
