Those looking to take Mom out for a special treat on Mother's Day will have no shortage of buffets and brunches to choose from in The Woodlands. Many area restaurants are offering special prices and course offerings that will help children make their moms feel, if not like the "Mother of the Year" title she's always wanted, then at least a little more exceptional.

One of the premier Mother's Day events in The Woodlands is at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, 2301 North Millbend Drive. For the resort's Champagne Brunch, offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., executive chef John Brazie has created a breakfast menu that is sure to make mom feel both exalted and full.

The champagne brunch is $52 for adults, $22 for children ages 6 to 12 and $15 for children ages 2 to 5. The menu features made-to-order omelets, Belgian waffles and a pancake bar, in addition to a seasonal antipasto bar, fresh salads and a cold seafood display. Meat selections include hand-carved, roasted meats or seafood and chicken dishes with fresh vegetables. As if that were not enough, the harvest includes flambeed deserts and pies, tortes and miniature pastries.

The dining room setting overlooks Lake Harrison and will offer live music during brunch.

Reservations, which are recommended for this brunch, can be made by calling 281-364-6323.
