Lake Houston area owners prepare for Small Business Saturday
Smaller shops have Small Business Saturday to promote the idea of supporting local retailers and keeping holiday spending in the community. Small Business Saturday takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and was started by American Express in 2010 to draw attention to small and family-owned businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year.

Atascocita continues playoff run
The Atascocita Eagles (10-1) advanced to third round of the 6A Division I high school football playoffs after defeating Pearland (8-4) 35-14 Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston. The Eagles will face the Lamar Texans (11-1) Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at NRG Stadium. Kingwood High School was defeated by Clear Brook 42-18 on Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Generation Park announces new tenant
McCord Development announced that Apache Industrial Services will serve as the first announced tenant in a Class A office building under construction within the Redemption Square, an entertainment and office district of mix-use development Generation Park. The office building, located at 250 Assay Street, Houston, will also be the location of McCord Development’s new corporate headquarters. Expansions continue at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport
United Airlines and the Houston Airport System broke ground in October on the United Technical Operations Center at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The $162 million project will add approximately 200,000 square feet of additional hangar capacity for maintaining widebody aircraft, in addition to a new warehouse distribution center, and technical services building. It is expected to be complete late in 2018.
