With all Harris County voting centers reporting, Harold V. Dutton Jr. is likely to have won the Democratic nomination for state representative of District 142 against challenger Jerry Davis.

Voting results show Dutton has 52.32% of the votes, or 5,008 votes, while Davis has 47.68% of the votes, or 4,536 votes. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Dutton will face uncontested Republican candidate Jason Rowe in the November election.

Unofficial results show incumbent candidate Harold V. Dutton Jr. maintains his lead on Jerry Davis in the race for state representative of District 142.

With 79 of 109 voting centers reporting, Dutton has 52.33% of the votes, or 4,651 votes, while Davis has 47.67% of the votes, or 4,236 votes. All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Unofficial voting results show incumbent candidate Harold V. Dutton Jr. is slightly ahead of candidate Jerry Davis in the race for state representative of District 142 in the primary runoffs. District 142 includes portions of the Humble area as well as a region of the Beltway 8 area in the Summerwood and Fall Creek neighborhoods.


Dutton has 52.43% of the votes, or 3,753 votes, while Davis has 47.57% of the votes, or 3,405 votes. According to the Harris County Clerk's office, five of 109 voting centers have reported.

According to Dutton's biography on the Texas House of Representatives website, Dutton is serving his 17th term in the district. Meanwhile, Davis currently serves as Houston City Council Member District B as well as vice mayor pro tem.

Whichever candidate wins the runoff election will face uncontested Republican candidate Jason Rowe in the November election. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
