At the 13th annual Katy Wine Fest, guests can try more than 70 types of wine, various beers and  food from a dozen restaurants.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Cinco Ranch, the event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Gallery Furniture, 7227 W. Grand Parkway South in Richmond. The Rotary Club hopes to raise $20,000 for The Brookwood Community, a faith-based organization that that helps adults with disabilities on its 475-acre campus in Brookshire through education, community support and work opportunities, said Mary Ellen Morris, the chairperson of the festival and a Rotarian.

At the event, Houston native and country music singer Chris Boise of the Chris Boise Mason Road Band will perform as guests taste wine, enjoy craft beer and nibble on appetizers. The Rotary will also host a silent auction with about 20 or more items.

As of Oct. 30, the club needed more volunteers to host the event, Morris said.

Last year, Katy Wine Fest and its 300 attendees raised $22,000 for the Brookwood Community’s Center for Learning, Morris said. So far, the Rotary has sold about 200 tickets for the 2018 festival but expects about 300 to 350 to attend.

General admission tickets purchased before Nov. 2 are $60. On the day of the event, the price increases to $75. The festival is also offering a designated driver ticket for $25. These can be purchased online at www.katywinefest.com/tickets. Attendees are encouraged to bring either a digital or paper copy of their ticket.
