The third annual
Cy-Fair ISD Superintendent Fun Run is set to take place Feb. 27 at the Berry Center giving community members the chance to don superhero outfits in support of the district.
The event features a chip-timed 5K run through the Towne Lake community as well as a 1-mile run/family path option that is not timed.
A festival element to the event features booth vendors, food trucks and various activities for children. Costumed heroes—including Superman, Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Bat Girl, Wonder Woman and Super Girl—will be roaming the event grounds for photo opportunities, and CFISD’s
Super Bus, will also be on display.
Live music will be provided from progressive country band Sawdust Road.
Proceeds from the fun run benefit the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, which awards student scholarships and staff development grants. The 2015 event generated more than $40,000 for CFEF.
Last minute registration opportunities will be open from 6:30-7:30 a.m. at the event site Feb. 27. One medal race takes place promptly at 8 a.m. with medals going to the top three finishers in each age and gender category.
Registration costs are $40 for non-students and $20 for students for the 5K, $15 for the 1-mile run and $20 per family for the family walk.
The fun run and festival takes place from 8 a.m. to noon. The Berry Center is located at 8877 Barker Cypress Road. The event is underwritten by Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital.
