Melt's menu features a choice of 22 sandwiches including several dessert options.[/caption]After many inquiries from eager diners about when Melt might open, owner Joe Duong and his business partner, Daniel Wagner, officially opened their gourmet grilled cheese eatery on July 6. On Facebook, the duo warned that long lines should be expected and asked for customers to be patient.
Melt features a variety of sandwiches with different cheeses and flavor combinations. One of Duong’s creations, Ike Pike, is made with blackberry jam, thick bacon and swiss cheese. All bread is freshly baked by the Houston-based Slow Dough Bread Company.
“This is a grease-in-your-face, bacon-in-everything kind of place,” said Duong, who also owns The Shack Burger Resort in Cypress.
The inaugural location opened at 14030 Telge Road, Cypress. The owners said they have plans to expand into several additional locations including Bridgeland, Towne Lake and Fairfield before the end of this year.
