Pei Wei Asian Diner is the first tenant contracted for Restaurant Village — a planned row of food options that is under construction in The Vintage.

The 17,000-square-foot Restaurant Village is located in the Vintage Marketplace, a mixed-use development anchored by Whole Foods on the corner of Cutten and Louetta roads in The Vintage.

At its completion by the end of the year, Restaurant Village will have the capacity to hold about eight tenants including Pei Wei, according to Vintage Marketplace developer Read King. Pei Wei, which will occupy 3,300 square feet, is slated to open in early 2016.

“We want to have exciting concepts so Vintage Marketplace and Restaurant Village become a destination [spot],” said Read King Broker Jeanie Gibbs said.

Restaurant Village was conceived when owners of Vintage Marketplace noticed a strong demand for more food options after the success of the restaurants in its first phase, which included Torchy's Tacos, VertsKebap and Mod Pizza.

Despite ample competition in a fast-developing area, Gibbs said there is still a market for more restaurants in the Vintage Marketplace. She said a bevy of different options will set Restaurant Village apart from its competitors.

“We are hoping to bring new concepts to the market that compliment what is already at Vintage Marketplace, such as Torchy’s Tacos, Mod Pizza, VertsKebap, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Sub Zero [Ice Cream],” Gibbs said.

Gibbs said Restaurant Village has seen demand from potential suitors but declined to confirm any potential tenants. A Mercantile Bank is also under construction within the Vintage Marketplace.
