Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico’s 1862 victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5 every year. Several bars, restaurants and other area venues are featuring special events all weekend. Here’s where Houstonians can celebrate:

May 5: Historic Market Square


A free concert features musicians Mexican Blackbird, Bombón, Chido Machine and GIO Chamba. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
