Camp Invention
The hands-on programs at Camp Invention are designed to help students think like scientists. Children participate in activities that spur creative problem solving, teamwork and entrepreneurship while assembling personalized robots. Grades K-6. July 16-20. 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $250.

Discovery College
Discovery College at Lone Star College-Montgomery provides various one-week science, technology, engineering, art and math-based, or STEAM, programs as well as athletics. Discovery College is also available at other LSCS campuses. Ages 7-14 (Montgomery campus). June 11-14,18-21, 25-28 and July 9-12. Weekly sessions start at $115.

Experiencing Robotics
Conroe ISD elementary students can learn conceptual aspects of working with robotics at Vogel and Cryar Intermediate schools. Grades 3-6. April 9-May 18; June 11-15, 18-22. 8:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. $150 per week.

Camp Fun Quest and Totally Teen Program
The Conroe Parks and Recreation Department hosts summer day camps. The Fun Quest Day Camp offers special events, field trips and activities such as swimming, crafts and hiking. The Totally Teen Program takes campers on two excursions per week and to participate in community service projects, cookouts and traditional camp activities. Grades 1-6 (CFQ), 7-8 (TTP). 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 4-August 17. $95 (CFQ resident), $118 (CFQ nonresident), $105 (TTP resident), $131 (TTP nonresident).

Friends of Texas Wildlife
Campers learn about a different group of the animal kingdom each day, including reptiles, mammals and birds. The camp features wildlife crafts, nature games, a snack and T-shirt. Ages 6-12. June 12-14 and

Teen Acting and Multi-Arts camps
The Owen Theatre hosts a camp for students who want to learn about costumes, stage makeup, vocals, prop and set design, and the basics of acting. The venue also hosts a Teen Acting Camp where campers receive vocal lessons, costuming and choreography sessions. The teen camp culminates in two musical performances. Ages 7-12 (Multi-Arts Camp). YMCA Youth Day Camp
The YMCA Conroe location hosts the Camp Owen Outdoor Adventure Camp throughout the summer, with each camp session lasting five days. The summer camps feature games, sports, hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, and educational activities. Ages 5-11 (youth), 12-14 (teen).
