What we reported Residents approved $480 million, $256.8 million and $109.5 million school bond referendums for Conroe, Montgomery and Willis ISDs respectively in 2015. Construction of new schools began in 2016 in Montgomery and Conroe ISD, and Willis ISD started upgrades on existing facilities.


The latest On Sept. 1, MISD broke ground on the $118 million Lake Creek High School on FM 2854,  south of Hwy. 105. The district also broke ground on Oak Hill Junior High School and Keenan Elementary School on Keenan Cut Off Road. CISD broke ground on the $25.6 million Lucille J. Bradley Elementary School and the $136.8 million Grand Oaks High School in Spring in early 2016. The schools are expected to open in August 2017 and 2018, respectively.


What’s next Oak Hill Junior High School and Keenan Elementary School are expected to open  this summer. Lake Creek High School is scheduled to open for the 2018-19 school year. This spring, Willis ISD will break ground on a new $26.8 million elementary school on M.P. Clark Road north of League Line Road. Officials expect to open the school for the 2018-19 school year.
