Conroe City Council met Thursday morning to vote on a number of city initiatives. Here is what you need to know.

  1. The city approved a resolution opposing Texas Senate Bill 2, which is legislation proposed by state legislators that would limit the amount property tax assessments can increase year over year. The city receives 29 percent of its revenue from property tax revenue, Conroe Chief Financial Officer Steve Williams said.

  2.  Council approved purchase of a storage system for Conroe Police Department video evidence, on-premises public safety software and other operating systems.

  3. The city approved an interlocal agreement with the city of Magnolia to share the cost of legal fees related to litigation with the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District.
