Last September, Candi Gomez and Rachel Torres opened Pout in Pink, a girl's clothing boutique and party center in Cypress.

Since opening the boutique—which is the only Pout and Pink location in Texas—the business partners have experienced a positive reaction from the surrounding community.

"It's more than we could have hoped for being open only four months," Torres said. "We wanted to bring a party center that was fun and cute to the Cypress area."

Pout in Pink carries various boutique outfits for newborns up to age 8, ranging from tutus to dresses to accessories and jewelry.

None of the clothing in the store costs more than $40, because Torres and Gomez—mothers themselves—wanted to provide affordable children's clothing options to the surrounding area.

In addition to the clothing, Pout in Pink hosts birthday parties throughout the year for girls age 3–12. Each party includes a craft, hairdo and makeup, dress-up time, a runway show and a cupcake bar.

The boutique also features several hand-painted murals on the walls.

"We brought in an artist to paint the murals on the walls," Gomez said. "We wanted it to be chic, but very different."

This year, Torres and Gomez want to continue growing their business and offer more events—such as daughter and dad dances and dress-up days—hopefully once a month.

"We love what we do," Gomez said. "It's fun, and we get to party for a living."
