As a part of the I-45 widening project between FM 518 and FM 517, the Texas Department of Transportation is reconstructing the intersection of I-45 and League City Parkway to improve traffic flow, and work is almost complete. As of May 22, League City Parkway was opened to all lanes of traffic except one westbound left-turn lane on League City Parkway and one southbound I-45 frontage road. The work is causing traffic delays on League City Parkway, prompting locals to instead use Hobbs Road, Ervin Street and Calder Road to get around it. The extension of Ervin Street was expedited to accommodate additional traffic, though the project is still months from full completion, and Butler Road and Turner Street will offer more relief when their widening is complete later this year.
