Enjoy a mural dedication

Feb. 25
Students of Harmony School of Innovation-Katy’s National Art Honor Society designed and painted a wall mural at the lobby of the Fort Bend County Precinct 3 north annex building. The mural depicts Katy’s history with images of the Fort Bend County seal, rice silos and the MKT locomotive. Attend a public meeting

Feb. 25
Both Katy City Council and the Katy ISD board of trustees are hosting public meetings. The council will consider appointing a new police chief, while the trustees will recognize the district’s 100th anniversary and vote to approve items discussed at the Feb. 18 work study meeting. Both meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are free to attend.

Learn about flood mitigation

Feb. 26
Barker Flood Prevention Advocacy Group will host a community meeting in which Sheri Willey, Army Corps of Engineers deputy chief of project management, will discuss projects and studies underway and being considered in the Katy area. 6-8 p.m. Free. Check out Christian Youth Theater

Feb. 28
Christian Youth Theater is hosting an open house for parents and children to learn more about the after-school theater arts program, which puts on musicals and teaches drama classes. Fort Bend County Judge KP George's second stop in his listening tour will be in Precinct 3.
