Family movie night, a music festival: 5 things to do in The Woodlands area this weekend, Aug. 10-12

There are a variety of events happening this weekend in The Woodlands. Here are a few to consider adding to your calendar.

1. Aug. 11: Creekside Park Family Movie Night
Despicable Me 3 will play on a big screen in Creekside Park Village Green this Saturday. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. 8:30-10 p.m. Free. Creekside Park Village Green, 26400 Kuykendahl Road, The Woodlands.

2. August 10-11: CKC Houston
CKC-Houston is a scrapbook convention that will offer shopping, scrapbooking classes and a variety of exhibits. 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m. $10 (adult vendor fair ticket), $13 (adult vendor fair two-day pass). Class prices vary. The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands.

3. Aug. 11: End of the Summer Party
Salt Remedy will host this event featuring games, prizes, tours and discounts. Prizes will include one month of unlimited salt therapy sessions and prizes from other business such as Planet Beach and Pure Barre The Woodlands. 4-6 p.m. Free. 4. Aug. 11: Goodbye Summer at Deacon Baldy's
Deacon Baldy's will host this event to say goodbye to the summer season. The business will offer $20 craft beer buckets and $5 frozen margaritas. Teachers can receive $2 off signature cocktails with ID. 11 a.m.-midnight. Free. Deacon Baldy's, 5447 FM 1488, Magnolia. 281-650-2558.

5. Aug. 11: Tribute to Conroe Music Festival
The Tribute to Conroe Music Festival will feature food trucks, beer and cocktails, a kids zone and a variety of cover bands to perform the music of Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Stone Temple Pilots. 1-11 p.m. $5 (general admission), $65 (VIP admission).
