Shop during tax-free weekend
The annual tax-free weekend exempts sales tax on most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks. The exemption, which was set by the state Legislature, applies to eligible items that sell for less than $100 each. Times and prices vary by location. Read more about the holiday here.

Friday, Aug. 10
Vote early for Magnolia ISD's tax rate election

Donate school supplies

The Southern Knights Senior Living Community hosts a Back to School Supply Drive this Friday to support local Boys and Girl Country, a Christian-based home for children in crisis in Hockley. Donation items include dry erase markers, wide-ruled three-subject notebooks, and new socks and underwear for ages 7-14. Bingo cards may be purchased for $5 per card or by donation. A free clinic is available for veterans in need of legal advice or assistance this Saturday at the Tomball VA Outpatient Clinic.
