17 Hwy. 290 lane closures scheduled in the Cy-Fair area this weekend, Feb. 16-18

TxDOT has scheduled several lane closures along Hwy. 290 this weekend in Cy-Fair.

TxDOT has scheduled several lane closures along Hwy. 290 this weekend in Cy-Fair.

The Texas Department of Transportation has announced the following lane closures planned in the Cy-Fair area this weekend. For a comprehensive list of lane closures, visit Houston TranStar.



Freeway closures
Beltway 8 eastbound connector ramp to Hwy. 290

  • Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.

  • Southbound Beltway 8 drivers can exit to West Road and turn left of Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road to enter the mainlanes after Gessner Road.

  • Northbound Beltway 8 drivers can exit to W. Little York Road and turn right on Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road to enter the mainlanes after Gessner Road.


Loop 610 westbound exit ramp to Hwy. 290

  • Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.

  • Drivers can detour to the TC Jester exit, continue on the frontage road and enter the Hwy. 290 mainlanes after Mangum.


Hwy. 290 eastbound from Senate Avenue to Gessner Road

  • Two outside lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.


Hwy. 290 westbound exit ramp to Huffmeister Road

  • Total closure until further notice.


Hwy. 290 westbound entrance ramp from Hwy. 6/FM 1960

  • Total closure until further notice.


Hwy. 290 westbound exit ramp to West Road/N. Eldridge Parkway

  • Total closure until 5 a.m. Monday, April 30.


Hwy. 290 westbound entrance ramp from FM 529

  • Total closure until 5 a.m. Monday, April 2.


Hwy. 290 westbound from Mason Road to Badtke Road

  • One alternate lane will be closed nightly from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. through the morning of Saturday, Feb. 24.


Hwy. 290 westbound entrance ramp from Mason Road

  • Total closure nightly from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. through the morning of Saturday, Feb. 17.


Hwy. 290 eastbound at Antoine Drive

  • One inside lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.


Hwy. 290 westbound at Antoine Drive

  • Two inside lane will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.


Hwy. 290 eastbound from Fairbanks N. Houston Road to Tidwell Road

  • One outside lane will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to noon Saturday, Feb. 17.

  • One outside lane will remain closed from Cole Creek to Fairbanks North Houston Road through 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.







Frontage road closures
Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road from Rothway Street to Fairbanks North Houston Road

  • Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.

  • Drivers can detour right on Rothway Street, left of Stonington Street and left on Fairbanks North Houston Road to the eastbound frontage road.


Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road from W. Little York Road to Gessner Road

  • One inside lane will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.







Street closures
Fairbanks North Houston Road northbound and southbound at Hwy. 290

  • Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.

  • Northbound drivers can detour to the frontage road and U-turn at W. Tidwell Road.

  • Southbound drivers can detour to the frontage road and U-turn at W. Little York Road.


Gessner Road northbound and southbound at Hwy. 290

  • Total closure from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, to 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.

  • Northbound drivers can detour to the frontage road and U-turn at W. Tidwell Road.

  • Southbound drivers can detour to the frontage road and U-turn at W. Little York Road.


Hempstead Road eastbound and westbound at Hwy. 6

  • Total closure until 5 p.m. Monday, April 30.

  • Northbound drivers can continue on Hwy. 6 to the business entrance or continue on Hwy. 6 and turn right on Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road.

  • Eastbound drivers can turn left on Hwy. 6 to the business entrance or continue on Hwy. 6 and turn right on Hwy. 290 eastbound frontage road.
