Magnolia ISD to consider approving District of Innovation plan, school calendar
The Magnolia ISD board of trustees meets Monday for a regular meeting. Magnolia City Council meets Tuesday for a regular meeting and is expected to consider residential water rates and setting the date for new commercial and residential water rates to take effect. TISD to consider applying for attendance waiver, authorizing property reappraisals
The TISD board of trustees meets Tuesday for a regular meeting. The board will consider approving school calendars for 2018-19 and 2019-20 and adopting a resolution to authorize reappraisals of properties damaged by 2017 floods. The board will also consider applying for an attendance waiver from the Texas Education Agency for the two school days missed in January from inclement weather. 5:30 p.m. 310 S. Candidate filing period ends for May election
The candidate filing period for a place on the May 5 ballot ends Friday, Feb. 16.

Tomball City Council positions 2 and 4—currently held by council members Mark Stoll and Derek Townsend, respectively—are on the ballot in May. Applications can be filed with the city secretary’s office.

Council positions 4 and 5, as well as the mayor’s seat, are also up for election in Magnolia in May. Council members Brenda Hoppe and Jonny Williams hold these seats currently. Additional election and filing information for Magnolia can be found here.

Positions 6 and 7 on the Magnolia ISD board of trustees—currently held by Travis Moffatt and Chuck Adcox—are up for election in May. Additional information about the MISD election can be found here.
