Between holiday events and government meetings, here are a few things residents of The Woodlands area should know this week, Dec. 4-8.

1. The City of Shenandoah will hold a town meeting Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
The City of Shenandoah invites residents to a town hall meeting to discuss Toddler Park, changes to water and trash rates and discuss a dog park.

2. Share Your Holiday Food Drive ends Dec. 8
Take part in the 37th annual ABC13's Share Your Holidays Food Drive and bring food or donations to Whole Foods Market in Hughes Landing in The Woodlands or the Montgomery County Food Bank. Donations can also be made online at or  

3. Sun & Ski opens a pop up shop in Market Street

4. John Cooper School to host Signatures Author Series
John Cooper will host a Signature Author Series luncheon on Dec. 8, featuring award-winning novelist Paula Hawkins, author of "Girl on the Train."

5. Classic Movie Series to be held at The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming
The movie "The Santa Claus" will be shown Dec. 8 as part of the The Classics Movie Series. Chairs and blankets are encouraged. 6:30-8:00 p.m. Free. The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands.

6. Township board to meet
The Woodlands Township board of directors will meet Wednesday to discuss monthly reports, the next phases of the Cultural Feasibility Study and updates on flooding mitigations. To view the entire agenda, click here.

7. The Lone Star College board of trustees to hold workshop meeting
