Spring and Klein ISDs have events planned to observe Veterans Day on Friday, and many area businesses offer special promotions for veterans. Read our roundup of some of the area's events here.
2. Chamber plans first responder luncheon Friday
The Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce holds its second annual first responder and military luncheon Nov. 10 at The Church at Creeks End. Noon-2 p.m. Free (military and first responders), $25 (general public).

3. Church holds holiday festival and craft fair Saturday
Immanuel United Church holds its annual holiday festival in Old Town Spring on Nov. 11. Quilt work by various artists is on display, and homemade baked goods and food truck fare are available for purchase. The event also includes a raffle for a hand-stitched quilt. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Free. 4. Islamic Arts Festival returns Saturday, Sunday
The Islamic Arts Society hosts an arts festival displaying Islamic calligraphy, woodwork, ceramic tiles and paintings from local artists. The event, which runs Nov. 11-12, also includes henna artists, a silent auction and food trucks. 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Free. 6. Pop-up library event planned at yoga studio Saturday
Patrons can get a library card as well as check out and return books at Cherry Blossom Yoga Studio on several dates while Barbara Bush Branch Library undergoes repairs.
