1. Resale shop in new location, former store changes use Oct. 30
Northwest Assistance Ministries moved into its new location at 15702 Bammel Village Drive, Houston on Oct. 28.
Starting Monday, NAM is using its previous resale store location at 2327 FM 1960 W., Houston, as a seasonal specialty shop with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decor. That store will close permanently on Dec. 8 or when all merchandise has been sold, according to NAM.

3. Toy and food drive begins Nov. 1
Mangum-Howell Center’s Doss Advisory Council, Houston Children’s Charity and The Marine Toys for Tots Program have teamed up to provide toys for children in need during the holiday season. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, including dolls, action figures, tool kits, art kits, cars, trucks and board games are welcome at the Mangum-Howell Center, 2500 Frick Road, Houston, from Nov. 1-Dec. 1.
The center also holds a food drive from Nov. 1-Dec. 12. 5. Market at Springwoods Village plans grand opening, Nov. 3
Regency Centers plans a ribbon cutting for the Market at Springwoods Village, at Spring Stuebner and Holzwarth roads in Spring at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Businesses located at the shopping center include Banfield Pet Hospital, Chick-fil-A, Cold Stone Creamery, Kroger, Lovett Dental, MOD Pizza, Nails of America, Natural Paws, Supercuts,
Tarka’s Indian Kitchen, Torchy’s Tacos and Zoe's Kitchen.
The event also includes a presentation of a donation from Regency Centers to Houston Food Bank, providing 15,000 meals.
Regency will host its first Foodie Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Guests will enjoy food samples, giveaways and a chance to meet former pro quarterback, Warren Moon.
