Early voting begins, multiple stores open and Harris County Commissioners Court takes place this week in Spring and Klein.



  1. Early voting begins


Early voting for the Nov. 7 election begins Oct. 23. Voting locations are open Oct 23-27, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Locations in Spring and Klein include Klein ISD Multipurpose Center, 7500 FM 2920, Spring; Fallbrook Church 12512 Walters Road, Houston and Spring First Church, 1851 Spring Cypress Road, Spring.





2. Harris County Commissioners Court
Harris County Commissioners Court meets at 10 a.m. Oct. 24 in the Harris County Administration Building, located at 1001 Preston St., Houston. Review the agenda here.





3. Which Wich and Kroger opening
Which Wich opened Oct. 23 at 20444 Kuykendahl Road, Ste. C, Spring. The Dallas-based fast-casual eatery specializes in sandwiches, salads and wraps. Customers can choose from a selection of meat, cheese, toppings and bread to customize their sandwiches. 832-791-5190. www.whichwich.com

Kroger will open Oct. 27 in Springwoods Village at 2150 Spring Stuebner Road, Spring. The Ohio-based grocer has more than 2,000 stores nationwide and more than 200 in Texas. The store sells a variety of produce, meat, bread and other grocery store staples, as well as health care products. www.thekrogerco.com





4. Lane closure on FM 1960
The inside lane on FM 1960 is closed eastbound and westbound from Centerfield Blvd. to Stuebner Airline Drive, Oct. 23-27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.





5. FEMA, SBA extend deadline to apply for disaster assistance
The deadline to register for disaster assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration has been extended from Oct. 24 to Nov. 24, FEMA announced Oct. 20.
