Here are a couple things to do in Gilbert this week, even when it’s hot out.

June 19
Help out some pit bulls while eating a burger

The One Love Pit Bull Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates for pit bull-type dogs, will put on a Barks & Burgers fundraiser at Zinburger’s Restaurant in the Heritage District. From 5-7 p.m., 20% of the sales at the restaurant will benefit the shelter dog program. 344 N. Gilbert Road.

June 22
Get your morning run in

StartLine Racing hosts the Sunrise Series 5K run limited to 600 participants. 4-7 p.m. (packet pickup June 21 at Road Runner Sports, 43 S. McClintock Drive, Tempe), 6:30-9:30 a.m. (race). $30-$40. Freestone Park, 1045 E. Juniper Ave., Gilbert. 480-912-7878.
