Musicians turn classical

The newly organized Gilbert Symphony Orchestra’s first concert will be during spring break with the themes of springtime and Irish. 7 p.m. Free but ticket reservation is required. Higley Center for the Performing Arts, 4132 E. Pecos Road, Gilbert. 480-279-7190.

Get garden ready for spring planting season

Master gardener Lee Ann Aronson of the Arizona Herb Association presents participants with information about what vegetables to plant in their gardens during spring in the Arizona climate. Topics to be covered include the use of different soils, watering practices and the effects of sun on plants. 11 a.m.-noon. Free but registration is required.
