Transportation updates: 3 road projects to watch in June

ONGOING I-440 reconstruction

This reconstruction project on I-440 from I-40 to I-24 includes creating three lanes of traffic in each direction, repairing noise walls and completing other safety improvements. The road will remain open for the duration of the project with lane closures in place.

Timeline: fall 2018-August 2020

Cost: $152.9 million

Funding source: Tennessee Department of Transportation

ONGOING Hillwood Boulevard bridge repair

This project will reconstruct the Hillwood Boulevard bridge in Belle Meade, which crosses over the CSX railroad tracks near Harding Pike and Lynnwood Boulevard.

Timeline: Oct. 1, 2018-July 31

Cost: $2.3 million

Funding sources: TDOT, Metro Nashville, city of Belle Meade

COMING SOON Culvert and guardrail repairs on West Hillwood Drive

There will be culvert replacements on West Hillwood Drive between Dunham Springs Road and Wilsonia Avenue, and on West Hillwood between Fleetwood Drive and Newberry Road. The guardrail installation at the northeast corner of Dunham Springs Road and West Hillwood Drive will require one lane closure for an estimated three days in August.

TDOT: No lane closures during Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Nov. 27-Dec. 2

To help cut down on travel delays during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced Nov. 25 it will pause all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways.
