Project updates

1. Old Hockley Road improvements
The Montgomery County Precinct 2 project rebuilds the road base of Old Hockley Road between FM 1488 and Nichols Sawmill Road in Magnolia. Construction began in late May.
Timeline: May-September 2018
Cost: $600,000-$1 million
Funding source: Montgomery County

2. FM 1774 widening
TxDOT is widening 2.8 miles of FM 1774 between West Lost Creek Boulevard and FM 149 in Pinehurst from two to four lanes. This summer, TxDOT crews will construct new left-turn lanes, which will take about three to four months, as part of the widening project. The project was more than 60 percent complete as of early June.

3. Spring Creek Bridge improvements
On June 5, TxDOT sent a project out for bid to replace and widen the FM 2978 bridge over Spring Creek from two to four lanes with shoulders along the roadway. TxDOT officials previously said construction will begin at the end of this year.
Timeline: fourth quarter 2018-second quarter 2020
Cost: $7 million

4. Telge Road widening
Harris County commissioners awarded a project June 12 to SER Construction Partners Ltd. to widen the first segment of Telge Road from north of Spring Cypress Road to north of Louetta Road on the border of Cypress and Tomball. The project widens the existing two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete roadway. The award phase will take approximately 60-90 days to complete, Harris County Precinct 4 officials said.

Cost: $5.3 million
