Several public forums are scheduled this week in Tomball and Magnolia, including school board and city council meetings.
1. Monday, Dec. 11
Magnolia ISD board of trustees to consider District of Innovation designation
The MISD board of trustees will consider a resolution Monday night to consider pursuing District of Innovation status. Districts of innovation were created by the Texas Legislature in 2015, providing districts more flexibility and local control in district planning. MISD must adopt a resolution and appoint a committee before pursuing the DOI designation. Trustees meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at 31141 Nichols Sawmill Road, Magnolia. View the agenda here.
2. Tuesday, Dec. 12
Tomball ISD to consider authorizing the issuance and sale of bonds
The TISD board of trustees will consider authorizing the issuance, sale and delivery of school building bonds for 2018. Trustees will also reorganize the board positions, such as president and secretary. TISD meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 310 S. Cherry St., Tomball. Magnolia City Council to set town hall meeting date for water, sewer rate changes
Magnolia City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 18111 Buddy Riley Blvd., Magnolia. Council members will consider setting a date for a town hall meeting informing residents about water and sewer rate changes. View the meeting agenda here.
4. Lone Star College-Tomball now processes passport applications
The LSC-Tomball Community Library, located at 30555 Hwy. 249, began passport processing services Friday, Dec. 8, and accepts passport applications from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second Friday of each month.
