FM 1488 overpass

1. FM 1488 overpass

The FM 1488 over  FM 149 in Magnolia will provide a route over the railroad tracks. The Texas Department of  Transportation will widen FM 1488 to four lanes between Mill Creek and Community roads and include a continuous left lane. Officials have reported two lanes of the overpass should open in February.

Timeline: December 2015-February 2018
Cost: $28.5 million

2. FM 2978 widening

The project will widen FM 2978 from two to four lanes with a center turn lane from FM 1488 to south of Dry Creek in Phase 1 and from south of Dry Creek to Conroe-Hufsmith Road in Phase 2. The project will also include a new bridge over Dry Creek. Montgomery County officials said most of AT&T’s utility lines—which caused a delay—have been moved, and construction has begun on the project.

Timeline: first quarter 2018-mid-2020 (Phase 1), December 2017-second quarter 2020 (Phase 2)
Cost: $23.9 million

3. Research Forest Drive widening

This Montgomery County road bond project will widen Research Forest Drive from two to four lanes from FM 2978 to Alden Bridge Drive. Construction on the remaining portion of the project— Egypt Lane to Alden Bridge Drive—is expected to be finished by the end of February.

Timeline: May 2016-February 2018
Cost: $8 million
Funding sources: Montgomery County Precinct 2

4. Robinson Road and Woodlands Parkway interchange

This project will convert the Woodlands Parkway-Robinson Road interchange at I-45 to a single-point interchange. The project includes reconstruction of the intersection of Patsy and Robinson roads as part of an agreement with Oak Ridge North. An advance funding agreement for a locally funded project between TxDOT and Montgomery County for the reconfiguration of the intersection of Robinson Road and I-45 has been approved. The final design phase of the project has begun, and the county will be ready to put the project out for bid in September.
