Taste of Houston Festival, The Haunting at Bear Branch: 5 things to do in The Woodlands this weekend, Oct. 13-15

There are a variety of events taking place this weekend in The Woodlands. Here are a few to consider adding to your calendar.

1. Oct. 13-14: The Haunting at Bear Branch

The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department builds and creates themed scenes each year to create a haunted house in the woods. This year’s The Haunting at Bear Branch, themed Sinister Circus, is an approximate 10 minute guided haunted trail walk through the woods at Bear Branch Park and runs throughout the month of October. The Haunted Trail is recommended for ages 9 and features strobe lights, fog machines, pop out actors, loud music, props and theatrical scary scenes.

2. Oct. 13-14: Fall Community Garage Sale

Sponsored by the Shenandoah Civic Club, the Fall Community Garage Sale will take place this weekend. All residents in Shenandoah are welcome to participate and make their home part of the event.

3. Oct. 14: Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas

The Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas will feature a 10-mile race, a 3.1 Armadillo Run 5K and the One 4 Texas Kids’ Fun Run. these races are produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department. After the race, participants will enjoy a post-race party with fun for the whole family.

4. Oct.14-15: Taste of Houston Festival

This food festival in The Woodlands will feature food trucks, artists, crafters, boutiques and over 200 booths. Live music and performances will also be featured. There will also be a kids zone filled with rides, a petting zoo and inflatables.

5. Oct. 15: Concert in the Park

The Concert in the Park event will feature an evening of music from The Spicolis, an 80’s variety band. Blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and pets are permitted. A Jack-O-Lantern Challenge will also be held, with pumpkins and carving utensils provided while supplies last.
