Several events and activities will take place in and around Sugar Land and Missouri City this weekend, Feb. 16-18.


Chili Cook Off
Missouri City hosts a family fun night with a chili cook off, crafts and activities. Refreshments will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the contestant with the best overall chili recipe and to the runner up. 6-8:30 p.m. Missouri City Recreation & Tennis Center, 2701 Cypress Point Drive, Missouri City. 281-403-8637.


Train Show
The San Jacinto Model Railroad Club hosts the Greater Houston Train Show at the Stafford Centre, featuring how-to demonstrations, track work layout, photo and history presentations and vendors from the region. 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. $1-$6. Stafford Centre, 10505 Cash Road, Stafford.


Family Fun
Autism advocacy organization Hope for Three organizes a fun day at Sugar Land Memorial Park specifically for families with children diagnosed with autism disorders. Parents and children can spend quality time together enjoying refreshments and activities such as tag, tug-of-war and relay races. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sugar Land Memorial Park, 15300 University Blvd., Sugar Land. 281-245-0640.


Farmers Market
Families may enjoy the local farmers market outside the Imperial Park Recreation Center, shopping for local produce, specialty items and baked goods to benefit local vendors and small businesses. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Imperial Park Recreation Center, 234 Matlage Way, Sugar Land.


Book Signing by Judy Burfict
