Start the month of February off right with a musical, Mardi Gras celebrations and Super Beef Sunday at St. Arnold Brewing Co.

Thursday, Feb. 1

Cooking Up A Cure

Some of Houston’s top chefs will prepare dishes for this third annual event benefitting the Texas Children’s Hospital’s food allergy program. 7-10 p.m. $250. The Astorian, 2500 Summer St., Houston. 832-824-1000. 

“School of Rock The Musical”

Friday, Feb. 2

107th Celebration of Mardi Gras Galveston

Enjoy parades, live music and balcony parties to kick off the annual Galveston Mardi Gras festivities. 5 p.m. $16. Activities will take place in Galveston’s historic downtown from 20th Street to 25th Street and from Harborside Drive to Mechanic Street. 

Hello, Trees!

This art installation is inspired by the inaudible connections existing in nature. Visitors can speak into a microphone and watch their words light up the arches throughout the park. The exhibit will be on display through Feb. 25. 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Free admission. Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney St., Houston. 

Saturday, Feb. 3

Abita Crawfish Boil

Sunday, Feb. 4

Open Meditation

Super Beef Sunday
