1. Attend SIRE’s gala, April 5

SIRE, a nonprofit horse therapeutic center, hosts its “Under the Stars” gala. The program includes a reception and silent auction, and the attire is Western Chic. 6:30 p.m. $350 (per individual), up to $15,000 (per table). 2. Sample wines at Texas Wine and Art Festival, April 6-7

Texas wineries will offer old favorites as well as new wines for sampling and purchasing at this annual event. Texas artists will also showcase their art in photography, clothing, handmade jewelry, paintings and crafts. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free (admission), $25 (10 tasting tickets). 3. Build your own cabinet door, April 6

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware will be offering project classes throughout the month of April. This weekend, attendees can build their own Shaker-style cabinet door. Instruction will be provided by Rockler’s woodworkers and teachers, and no experience or tools are needed.
