Several haunted houses are operating throughout the month of October in the Greater Houston area, including the recently rebranded Purgatory Scream Park, formerly the Kingwood Asylum.

Although the name has changed, co-owner Shane Glasgow said guests can still expect the same realistic haunted attraction—a murder house, an asylum hospital and an outdoor clown carnival.

“I would never tell you I’m the scariest haunt in the area because I don’t know what scares you,” he said. “I can guarantee I’m the most unique haunt in the area—hands down. … We’ve got something that’s going to get everybody’s phobia going.”
