Parents looking for spring break and summer activities for kids to enjoy in The Woodlands can find a variety of camps for all ages, including half- and full-day schedules. Science, art, athletics and general academic camps are planned throughout the area.

Camp Zoofari
Camp Zoofari at the Houston Zoo offers a variety of weeklong camps focused on different themes for younger campers. Ages 3-16. June-August.

Spring break camps

A. Nutty Scientists
Nutty Scientists offers interactive summer camps. This summer’s camp features themes such as “Nutty Detectives” and “Amazing Toy Making.” A partnership with the organization Drama Rockets also offers a combination of science, art and theater across two additional camps. Ages 6-11. March 11-15.

B. The Woodlands Children’s Museum
The Woodlands Children’s Museum offers 10 separate weeks of workshops with age-appropriate activities. Workshops are hands-on, art- and science-based activities, such as building Lego kits, reading, building sand castles, early robotics and creating model volcanoes. March 11-15. Cost varies.

1. Discovery College
Discovery College at Lone Star College-Montgomery and LSC-Creekside Center provides an opportunity for students to grow with a variety of one-week, hands-on science-, technology-, engineering-, art- and math-based programs as well as athletics. Ages, dates, cost TBD.

2. Language Kids World
Language Kids World helps children connect to culture through language fluency and fun with its immersion summer camps in Spanish. Programs are taught by native-speaking language educators in a play-based and innovative environment. Ages 3-10. June 24-28 (Latin American camp), July 8-12 (Spain camp). $229 (one week).

3. Camp Invention
The camp offers a variety of hands-on programming related to creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, engineering and curiosity designed to make students think like scientists. The camp has two sessions in The Woodlands:

4. Wonders of the Woodlands (WOW!) Science Camp

5. Class Act Productions Summer Stock Shows
The Woodlands-area theater program offers a pair of summer sessions for children to learn about theater, singing and acting through two separate shows. Ages 6-10, 11-16. June 10-14, 17-21. $325 (“Annie”), $375 (“Aladdin Jr.”).

6. The Kangaroo Forest
This summer program offers children a variety of daily activities and several weekly field trips throughout the Houston area. Ages 5-12. June 3-Aug. 12. $825/month.

7. Ivy Kids
Ivy Kids holds a 10-week summer camp program. The weekly camps for students ages 5 to 12 feature field trips and rotating themes including cooking, art and more. Students can sign up for as many or few weeks as they desire. Ages 5-12.June 3-Aug. 9. $205 (weekly).

8. Stepping Stones Preparation Academy
The theme of this camp changes on a weekly basis, offering both indoor and outdoor activities, off-campus and in-house field trips, swimming and hands-on projects at the Crane Brook Drive location.

9. Stepping Stones Child Care
The theme of this camp changes weekly, offering both indoor and outdoor activities, off-campus and in-house field trips, swimming and hands-on projects at the Falconwing Drive location.

10. The Woodlands Children’s Museum
The Woodlands Children’s Museum offers 10 weeks of summer workshops with age-appropriate classes. Workshops include art- and science-based with classes in subjects such as Legos, early robotics, art and clay making.

11. YMCA Teen Camp
Each YMCA Teen Camp lasts five days. Camp activities include swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, archery, college tours, weekly devotionals and a service project.

12. VillaSport Athletic Club
The athletic club’s summer camp offerings range from an 11-week day camp focused on travel and exploration to week-long counselor training, sports and aquatics sessions. Ages 5-17. June 3-Aug. 16. Prices vary by camp.

13. Maximum Athletics
